Content Marketing Manager - Full-Time

CornerPost Marketing, a creative agricultural-based marketing and communications agency in Fort Dodge, Iowa, is seeking a passionate storyteller and content strategist to join our dedicated agency team serving the agriculture industry. The Content Marketing Manager is new position within a growing content and creative team at CornerPost, and will serve a critical role in the development, management, and execution of branded content strategy to support several agriculture clients.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing marketing organization creating game-changing creative work that is pushing the status-quote of marketing and communications. This role will collaborate with a wide variety of client and industry stakeholders and CornerPost team members to develop content aligned with clients’ business goals, and will be responsible for delivering content that engages target audiences and helps increase brand favorability across multiple distribution channels.

This individual is an expert in all things related to content and channel optimization, brand consistency, segmentation and localization, analytics and meaningful measurement. The position collaborates with client services, creative and content teams to help define both the clients’ brand stories and the stories that connect with audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person.
  • Mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why.
  • Work with product marketing and sales client teams to develop content strategies and materials that support sales cycles.
  • Development of functional content calendars for multiple clients and projects
  • Craft interesting, well-researched, content to drive traffic, engage and convert target customers, and improve shared content across social media channels; content to include white papers, blog posts, website copy, eBooks, case studies, webinars, videos, presentations, speeches, and other content as needed
  • Contribute to social media postings and management of social media accounts and content calendar
  • Coordinate with partners, though leaders and other third parties to produce high quality join content programs where applicable.
  • Supervising writers, editors, content strategists; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.
  • Participation in the hiring and supervising of content/story leaders in various content verticals.
  • Integration of content activities within traditional marketing campaigns.
  • Conducting ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness.
  • Gathering data and handle analytics (or work those who do) and make recommendations based on those results.
  • Keep up with industry trends and topics to ensure effective communications.
  • Developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies.
  • Provide accurate and timely project reporting on all content marketing activities for internal and external reporting with clients and business partners to ensure programs are meeting intended goals.
  • Leveraging market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate customers that leads to critical behavioral metrics.
  • Establishing workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content.
  • Work with digital marketing team members to develop and execute campaigns to drive engagement with content.
  • Conducting periodic competitive audits.
  • Creation of a strategy for developing digital communication outreach and advertising, apps, etc. as needed.
  • Work closely with agency’s design team on all creative and branding initiatives to ensure a consistent message across channels.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in content development, marketing, communications, or writing-focused roles
  • Agricultural-knowledge and/or experience in communicating within the agriculture industry
  • Excellent written skills for online and print
  • Excellent communicator and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical capability
  • Proven success using content channels and digital communications to advance consumer brands
  • Background in print or broadcast writing or journalism and has a “nose” for the story. Training in how to tell a story using words, images or audio-visual, and demonstrated ability to create content that draws in an audience.
  • Experience managing teams in a collaborative environment; experience in editor role a plus
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences, building editorial calendars and leading content plans
  • Solid knowledge of web and digital analytics tools
  • An innovator and creative that possesses strong analytical skills and ability for objective, quick decision-making
  • A self-starter with a drive for success and ability to tackle whatever needs to get done
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in print, online and multimedia content marketing and measurement
  • Portfolio demonstrates strength in storytelling and variety of brand, corporate and though leadership topics.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Workspace, social media scheduling platforms, MailChimp/Constant Contact
